The satellite image on Google maps shows a strong current flowing out of the pond(taken on a dropping tide).

It's lucky that someone was there to see them trapped and call for help.

Billington in Plymouth has demos every weekend I believe. In Newton Charles River will let you try anything out.

I don't know if there are any more 'demo days' like EMS & REI put on, since the end of season sales are right around the corner.

Thanks for calling this paddle; I had a great time. I didn't think that the headwind was too bad; at least the swell going to shore seemed to equalize things. Once we got closer to the harbor in shallower water around the point the swell disappeared, but a bit closer there were plenty of boat wakes ...

bostonglobe article?

My father said that there was an article in last weekend's globe(not sure which day) about someone who commutes via kayak from Hingham <> Boston?

Anyone see it or have a link to the online copy?

We should probably not participate in such paddles until we are able to troubleshoot our forward stroke. I'm speaking for myself here, but I would say that you should participate. When I was working on my skiing I used to try to ski in the tracks of someone who was better than myself. You can't rea...

I've been using a nylon sprayskirt; which doesn't seem to offer much resistance if I want out of the boat. I've added some foam to the thigh braces to make things a bit snugger. Does a neoprene skirt give you a better connection to the boat for hip snaps while bracing?

Jordan, Gooseberry is at the end of E. Beach rd after it's intersection with John Reed rd(the main rd which passes Horseneck.) It's west of the outlet of Allen's Pond(the Westport town beach is between Allen's Pond and Gooseberry. Horseneck Beach is on the other side of Gooseberry Neck.

Anyone going out after work tuesday? Tide doesn't seem good for Hingham; low is at 8:19 I think. I was thinking of going out on the Taunton river from Assonet or Dighton rock? The people at Canoe Passage say that there is plenty of water at low tide; but does anyone have any experience there?
