Virtual Earth

Post by colonialsinger »

Just want to share my favorite new site with my fellow Turkeys:

http://www.virtualearth.msn.com

It's an interactive U.S. atlas searchable by town, state, name of body of water. You can zoom in very close, then press the "aerial photo" button to see how big the parking lot at the launch site really is! Type the name of your favorite coffee shop in the "What" search bar and it will be pinpointed on the map for you - zoom out and if there are any more out there they will be pinpointed, too.

Watch out - this site is addictive - you'll find yourself looking up your house, your mother's cottage, rivers you'll never paddle in real life...

It's August - get paddling!
