Another fun night/moonrise paddle to the Spit. Sept.10th

Post by TraceyJ »

It will be nearly a full moon, and the way it's looking, some good weather.

Come on out and enjoy a leisurely paddle and an even more leisurely get together
as we mark the end of a fun season of paddling. Bring something to sit on, something warmer
to wear as the night cools down, and your night gear.(light for boat and your person).
And don't forget some munchies/appetizers. This is more to just get out on the beach for a little get together,
than it is to paddle, so I really don't want to set a strict time when we need to meet to go over,
but of course we will all be paddling back at the same time.

Low tide is 4:30, the sun is setting at 7 and the moon is rising at 6.
5 may be a great time to meet and launch if you just want to spend a few hours.
If you are interested in going over a bit earlier and making an afternoon/evening I am all for that.
Location (put in) 220 Driftway Scituate.

Anyone interested, please share your thoughts.
And please RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

I hope everyone is safe and sound and all power recovered from Irene.

Thanks,
Tracey

I'm going to try to make it but will probably be late. I have a cookout in Marshfield at 3:00pm but will try to duck out early to come over and join the beach party. I'll try to remember to bring a desert, probably brownies, since I'll be late.

I might even try to convince the social director to join us for this one. It will probably be one of the last opportunities for me to kayak this season. Out of town most of next week...and the Monday after that I head out to work five weeks...uh...someplace else. (Yeah, some of you know where...I just don't want to make a big deal of it.)

I. Think he's trying to tell everyone that his physical terrorist released him and he can paddle on his own.

More like a first day Furlough / probation :)

Still have 6+ weeks of PT, but with some progress and me twisting his arm for a change, I got the pass :D :D :D :D

Five-to-one odds says he doesn't get out of the boat when you get to the spit.

Tracey - Sorry I didn't make it...got too comfortable at my afternoon party and they fired up the grill just as I would have had to leave, so I had to stay.

I hope somebody had a good camera - the sunset was magnificent!

Thank you Tracey, Bea, Russ, Ron, Joe, Ken, Karen, and Barb for a great time last evening.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful sunset, and a floating feast for a King.

Thank you all!!

Thank you, Tracey, for getting the flock together for a full moon food bonanza! Wow!

Awesome to see a very happy Jordan on the water! His electric smile lit up the sky!!

Don't know if anyone is doing a trip report? I took a few photos and will add mine after I see what other people are posting. It was a beautiful night, but my camera could not capture the magic!!

Thanks again, everyone.

Thank you to all who showed. I hope you enjoyed the food.
The company was wonderful.
Karen, thanks for all the lights.
Ron, I hope you got a lot of pictures of the sunset.
It was magnificent. And it was the only thing brighter than
Jordan's smile.
