Yes, the ramp next to Quincy Yacht Club on Houghs Neck is closed on weekdays due to construction of a new ramp. I believe you can use it on weekends, and on weekdays after 4:00 PM, but I would check with the Quincy Police Marine Unit to be sure.

Norm, Buzzards Bay is known for chop and afternoon wind. I lived down there for many years and my husband and I had a formula for figuring out the wind speed. There's a lot of work involved to camp for just one night but it was worth it! I would like to thank all who brought and shared wonderful food. I am not used to eating so well on a kayak camping trip. Thank you to everyone for a great weekend.

I'll go out with Mark at 9:30. I have gone out early in the past and had no issues with setting up camp earlier than 1PM as long as the site is unoccupied.

I've looked at the tides for Waquoit and the flood begins at around 10 am, with max flood at around 12:30, 1.7 knots. While certainly doable, the flood in the river will be a PITA with a noon launch.
