I am a novice kayaker. I just took an REI class, and I loved it. They highly recommended getting a dry bag, but that's their job. Wampatuck S.P. Is a good choice. It is less than 5 miles from Hingham Harbor. You can book It on Reserve America. You have a choose of elec. or non elec. Nice clean Woodsie place. If you have a bike bring it, there is miles of paved or dirt trails. Oh ya there is a lake you can kayak on all so.
