whitewater

So, I know the AMC runs a clinic for intro. to whitewater, but the two dates posted don't work for me.

Just looking to get some basics down for Class I/II stuff with the Manitou 13 now that I have a spray skirt (thanks Jim!).

Re: kayak review section?

Pat, one thing I did on one of the forums I run was to create a general 'reviews' forum. Anything and everything went in there, not only that of car-specific stuff (which the forum is about), so I didn't run into the issue of having empty forums...ack! Taking a quick look just know, there's certainl...

Re: Interested in improving your paddling skills this season?

Like to get out in some surf with the ski and work on balance/recovery in those conditions. Heck, even tips heading out through a rolling surf with a gentle sloping sandy bottom would be cool. I've watched videos and read the tips, but haven't tried it yet.

Anything like this for kayaks? Cape Cod Bay Challenge Fundraiser/endurance event, so not a race... But m looks like it would be a good time on any paddle craft. Has there ever been a somewhat-organized bay crossing/race? I know that some WT Paddlers make the crossing, same with some other clubs. Jus...

Neat photos, never seen the river that high through that section! Ayup, that double-arch bridge is the turnaround. Fondly remembered by me as it was the spot that I learned the gripping power of a wing paddle...as it pulled me out of the kayak when I tried to use it as a rudder, hehe. Here's informa...

So, what are you planning on trying to learn/attempt during the fair weather paddling season? Will also be posting up the revised Charles River race dates. We switch over to 10AM Sunday morning until the river freezes over. Probably...

Re: New site: paddleraces.com

Thanks for the comments Bev. I've had some similar experiences in terms of racers or not. Be curious to get opinions from some of the local top racers to see how they got into a boat in the first place, and if they still casually paddle or not.

Depending on the island, there can be heavy large boat traffic along with some decent currents, and of course wind-driven waves.
