Couldn't transport the kayak this morning as I've brought the truck in for some front end work. If it's out of the shop in time enough to get home/load up/get to Hingham, I'll be there!

Probably won't make it tonight. My wife arrives home tomorrow after some time with her side of the clan on Oahu ... and I have some...uh... things to do around here before she arrives. :?

It's OK though. I got a terrific day of paddling in with my son up in Maine on Monday. We set out from the tip of Biddeford Pool - he actually lives in a rented place right on the ocean - and paddled all the way out to Stratton Island and back by way of several islands off the coast. Stratton is an Audubon sanctuary and there was more wildlife than one could imagine....nesting birds of all kinds and seals everywhere. We made it back to port just as the fog seriously closed in. A great day.

The tide chart tells me that you might be in for a muddy landing tonight.

Be sure to amuse, er, IMPRESS them with your backless, groovy, psychedelic changing robe after Bev! Or, use it for you pre-race, "warm up robe". Scare them into submission.

And Finn's, Maine paddle, sounds really nice!
Maybe one to consider for a WT trip sometime?

What does "all the way out to Stratton Island" look like in miles?

The wildlife sounds nice!

Missed you Nelson!

13 people for tonight's outing in Hingham!

Good time except for the slog back within the inner harbor.......

Time to check the charts to re-sync our tide timing

Thanks to all for a great night!

I have that tune on my IPOD.

It was actually a theme song to a movie that Joe Namath starred in (CC and Company 1970)LOL

Well, better than last year. 3 hours 50 mins. I was really cranking for the first 12 miles and in touch with most of the faster boats but somewhere on the back shore my camelback mouth piece fell in the water with the valve on and syphoned out the rest of my gatorade. The last 7 miles were a slog with nothing to drink and 90 degree temperature so I really lost time over that stretch, especially as it was the sloppiest part of the course with head on winds and boat wakes. All in all though, I had a great day and love this race. I will be happy if I get under 3 hours 30 next year. I should know the new boat better and definitely will have a reserve water supply!

Pic is on the back shore with about 8 miles to go.

Thanks for asking! The North River Race this weekend should seem like a total picnic!

Cheers,

Bev.

This Thursday 7/22/10 will be a re-synch night to utilize a favorable tide schedule again.

For those who came last week it was a bit shallow and a slog coming back in.

Let's plan on Hingham for 7/22 and then resume the alternate week schedule.

Cheers!

Great minds think alike! 8)

My wife and I were out for our evening jaunt on Worlds End last night...and I noticed that the tide was was looking pretty full around 6:30-7:00 PM. Logged onto the board now with plans to suggest the above change of schedule...and find that Jordan beat me to it.

Hope to be there tomorrow evening.

I'll be there and my wife Savannah will be able to join as well due to a class cancellation. I'm not even going to try keeping up with you around bumpkin tonight though I will probably just explore the inner islands and coastline.

Hey, you! Sorry you can't make it - hopefully our paddling paths will cross some time this summer?! And hopefully Gavin and his wife will go easy on me - it'll only be my second time in wavy water! I shall strive to be an expert by the time we next meet
