Jordan - thanks for making the Stars reservation for us. Sorry you couldn't make it tonight. The paddling was very subdued. We went around Worlds End and back.

It was interesting to see an AMC group leaving the beach in the dark as we were returning. I guess there were a few people we knew amongst them. Maybe somebody could tell us how the trip in the dark went.

For the Stars discussion concerning how far we paddled - my GPS recorded a distance of 5.8 miles.

It appears that the way to get a great turnout is to make sure Jordan can not make it. We had 12 people show up.

For those who did not make it, you missed a great sunset.

Hey everyone!

After seeing Ron's sunset photos (nice!).....I'd definitely say that seeing the sunset beats the dark! Norm, I joined the AMC group for the night paddle. It was fun using headlamps and deck lights....and seeing the Boston skyline glowing in the distance. Also loved the moonlight on the water and the starlight sky....no doubt, it was fun being on the water at night.....but it would have been 10 times more fun if the Turkey's had joined in!!!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone...hopefully soon!

I'm going to do my best to get there tonight. Don't paddle too fast if I'm not there by 6PM.

If I'm late and you aren't going to Bumpkin, leave me a huge note in the sand.

I'm in but can paddle on my own so as not to slow y'all down.

I have a whistle if I get myself into any trouble.

Looking to finally being able to join the fun! :P

However, judging by the way things went on a quick excursion out off of Cohasset this weekend, I might not go for the full circuit around the islands. Shoulder is still an issue, though getting better.

See everyone at the beach!

I've already stowed my long boat away in preparation for Earl and I've got a few more things to do before the storm hits so it's a no go for me tonight.

Nelson - I'll be a definite no for PPR...gotta do some things around the yard tonight in case the rain starts before I get home from work tomorrow. I'd rather work in the dark than in the rain.

What's the deal for tonight? Looks decent during the day, but the forecast for the evening looks like change is on the way...

Today
Mostly sunny. Highs around 70. West winds 5 to 10 mph... becoming south 10 to 15 mph this afternoon.

Tonight
A chance of showers in the evening...then showers with a chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds after midnight. Locally heavy rainfall possible after midnight. Breezy and not as cool. Near steady temperature in the mid 60s. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Looks like you shouldn't go paddling after midnight tonight!

I will not be there tonight - I'm still doing volunteer video work at high school football games even though my kids are off to college. They have a game tonight. No rain allowed till after 8:30pm! That will keep everybody happy. :)

Looks like a good night. The High Wind Watch goes up at 8:00 PM...and we should be coming off the water about then.

I'm still not sure I'll be there. Who's planning on it?

Thursday Night - 9/30/10

I assume paddling in Hingham tonight is canceled due to the wind advisory of 40-50mph gusts and possibility of thunderstorms.

I won't be there tonight.

But I'm not giving up on Thursday nights yet! There's still a lot of nice weather and paddling to be enjoyed!
