Sunset/Moonrise Party at the Spit?

Post by norm »

Any interest in having a beach party at the Spit on the evening of Sunday July 9, 2017?

Looks like sunset is at 8:20pm and moonrise is at 8:37pm.

Low tide is at 6:18pm.

Shall we organize a trip and beach party this year? :D

Sounds like fun! I'm interested. Maybe I'll be able to talk my better half into coming as well?

What have we done before regarding a start time? Did we launch after dead low tide so that we know if we get stuck it will not be for long? I don't remember. I think I've missed this event for a few years.

I'm planning on going and will bring some humus and chips to share. I'll be at the driftway for 5:30 is that a good time?

Nancy - 5:30 should be fine. There won't be too much rush to get launched. Have you done this paddle before? Be prepared for getting muddy at the put-in.

By the way, this trip is also now posted in the "Upcoming trips" forum. Sorry for the confusion everyone.

Hi Norm

I've done this trip twice and it is fun. A bit muddy but fun. I responded on the upcoming trips as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I'm sad (on multiple levels) to report that one of the original campers at our campground passed away the other night, and memorial services will be held on Sunday evening. Sue and I will be attending and won't be able to join you all. I'm pretty sure that I'm also speaking for Ron and Chip who will certainly be attending as well.

Hope you all have a great time and post some pictures!

I'm sorry to say that I am not going to be able to make it tonite. It looks to be a great evening to be out on the water. Have fun.
