Graves Light Station in Boston Harbor

Description
Wednesday, February 17, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. EST

Waveswept Graves Ledge was a menace to mariners from the earliest days of Puritan Boston, claiming untold vessels and lives until the building of the light.

In this online program, Dave and Lynn Waller, who began restoring the landmark Graves Light in 2013, tell the tale of this extreme engineering and construction project, which resultied in what some considered "the finest lighthouse on the East Coast." Blending period details with modern conveniences five miles offshore presented the Wallers with challenges, but their success merited a Boston Preservation Alliance Achievement Award. Join us on our seaward journey with German spies, shipwrecks, nor’easters, and swinging '60s clandestine parties.
