Great Paddle on Thursday afternoon
The weather forecasters were all wrong-- blue sky and wispy clouds the whole time

Went around Worlds End and up the Weir River looking for the South Shore Bear-- No luck

Thanks to Bea, Joy and Norm-- Super paddling companions

Let's start posting trips again

Hi everyone, I am new to this community and love it already!
Quick question - I wanted to explore Hingham harbor today , paddle a bit around World’s end, etc. I do have river/ lake kayak and was curious if this will work well or I really need sea kayak?
I am pretty experienced with kayaking on rivers and ponds, and am strong swimmer - just in case :).
Thanks!!!

First of all, Welcome!

The most important thing is to make sure you're wearing a PFD, and if you're new to this, you a much safer with at least one other person.

Beyond that you should make sure you're in flat water conditions and have had some self and assisted rescue practice. Being a half mile from shore and out of your boat and trying to get in the for the first time can be inconvenient, potentially dangerous, especially as the water cools off later in the season.

Plenty of skilled people paddle boats other sea kayaks where you're headed. Be safe, and have fun.

Post a trip in the trip section and invite some other seasoned people, I suspect you'll get some takers.

Enjoy!
Paddle with a big smile, its contagious 8)
