Wednesday skill sessions at Walden

Post by lbeale »

Greetings WTPaddlers,

On Wednesday nites a group from NSPN practice rollin', scullin', self-rescues, rescues, and stupid kayak tricks. We arrive between 5-5:30 and end around 7:15 to be gone by 7:30. Walden Pond is free after 5:00.

So feel free to join us-all levels welcome.

Sounds like fun!

I'd have to plan an early Wednesday afternoon escape to pull that one off!

I promise Jordan, I won't tell your boss if you show up--I'll even teach you how to stand up in your boat--unless you can do it already--just an example of another "stupid kayak tricks"--do you have any you want to share?

May show up... The Charles even with this rain is a mess of weeds and goose poop I still haven't thrown a weedblocker on the ski yet. Also been fiddling with paddle length, be good to do something slightly different.

After careful consultation, the co-reigning champions of the WTP roll-off have decided that the venue for this year's contest will be in moving water.

A certain tide rip in Cohasset has been mentioned as one option.

Given the sound of the rain pounding on my roof, the Walden Pond session is cancelled--but will be back next week at the same time--Jordan try to join us and maybe you can demonstrate the hand roll jive--Les

Love to Leslie!

First I'll have to get the hand roll down LOL, second I'll be in Santa Barbara next Tue - Thurs for work, unfortunately.

As Mark mentioned, he and John M are the co-rolling champs from two years ago tied at 17 rolls. Yours truly came in second with 16/min, alternating sides LOL.

Let's plan a paddle and some practice soon, as I would enjoy catching up again!

Enjoy!
