Hi,

Not sure if I pm'd someone or not - meant to post a reply -

I handed off my camping spot to Anne B., but will paddle both days. Anne had checked about her skill level with a few folks.

I decided to do this as I currently have no job, and absolutely no camping gear. Joseph - thanks for the offer of lending me a tent, but I still need other things, and I thought it best to not be buying these things right now. And, since I live about 20 minutes away, I can get there with no issues.

I will stay through dinner with everyone both nights - what would you like me to bring? Are there gaps in the food?

Mike, can you confirm that you will be swinging by on Sunday with some goodies as we get closer. I know how sporadic your calendar can get.

Yep. That's still the plan. I may also be down in the area in time for the Saturday paddles...but it depends on getting to New Seabury on Friday night. If so, would everyone rather I load up the red barge with donuts and muffins on Saturday morning instead?

I think that if this was the weekend we'd scheduled for the trip, I might have given up on Washburn forever. But our weekend appears to be shaping up as late-July weather! Maybe a little warmer than we'd like, but it beats the hell out of last year's typhoon.

There is no water on the island so make sure you bring enough for the weekend. A gallon per day is the rule of thumb. It is going to be hot and we will need water for cleaning. Better to have too much than not enough. If you are bringing a cooler, freeze water bottles for ice and you can drink it later.

I'm not sure if I'm still in the right spot for posting this or not, so I'm posting it twice. I'm just trying to let the powers that be, know that I will still be there for Saturday night, but I'm a no-go for Friday night, if some one wants a one night spot.

Any preferences for donuts, muffins, bagels, and the like on Sunday morning? I should be showing up around 7:30 AM or so.

Whatever sugar is removed from Anne's can be added to my donuts.

Just washed the ocean off of me. Still feeling a little crispy.

Here's a quick snippet of Tracey making breakfast for us while Jordan walks on thin ice.

It's funny how we're all trained now to step aside and let Tracey do her thing!

Thanks for all the great meals Tracey!

No Nelson,

He didn't put the spatula down, but I realized I had won when he picked up the stove and moved it closer
to me.

Actually, Jordan was a great help with that meal and he made it go smoothly.
I don't think he realized I was making omeletes, and while I was waiting for the eggs to set he was getting ready to stir to
make scrambled.
It was all good.

Friday afternoon - Jordan and I went out into the sound as far as a buoy, about a half mile, and rode the waves back to the inlet.

Saturday - we had 2 groups go out - my group was going to go out into the sound, but 5-6 foot waves at the inlet changed our minds and we just went up into Jehu Pond instead. The second group stayed near Washburn and went down towards Tim's pond I believe.

Sunday - after packing up the campsite and going to the ramp to load the cars, a few of us were thinking of going down to Eel Pond, but once we got to the ramp, we decided to just go to lunch in Wareham instead, to get over the bridge before traffic baked up too much.

It was a great weekend for kite boarding and wind surfing. A little too much wind and waves for kayaking.
